Role Description

Under the supervision of the Lead scientist, the incumbent will be responsible for:

• Conducting experiments, analyses, sampling, preparations according to established protocols or testing plans
• Adaptation of experimental set-ups, installation of equipment, follow-up and conduct of laboratory experiments
• Holding laboratory book
• Collecting data, reporting of results and observations, interpretation and presentation of results; entry in database
• Maintenance and interventions on tools and equipment used
• Tracking technical developments in the field’s activity and make suggestion for improvements and adaptations
• Searching and operating technical documentation

Requirements

• Master’s degree in chemistry
• 5 years of experience
• Scientific knowledge and techniques
• Knowledge in the field of polymers a strong asset
• Strong expertise in organic chemistry techniques (distillation, titration, crystallization, etc.)
• Strong data base development knowledge
• Good understanding of analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, MS, ICP, etc.)
• WHIMIS
• Good computer skills
